Hard hats come in many varieties, such as aluminum hard hats, wide brim hard hats, cowboy hard hats, and custom hard hats. We carry hard hats made by MSA V-Gard, North, Bullard, Pyramex, Vulcan, Jackson, and Fibre Metal. Hard Hats can be classified as Class E, G, or C in regards to the amount of voltage a hard hat will protect. Class E, or electrical, will protect up to 20,000 volts, and Class G, or general, protects up to 2200 volts. Class C, or conductive, offers no electrical protection. In addition, our hard hats come in stronger and lightweight safety grades in regards to the work environment. For example, the Fibre Metal Supereight model can be used in mining, forestry, and utilities work environments. Lightweight hard hats, such as bump caps, are best worn in less strenuous work environments where the worker will not experience blows to the back of the head.

Typically, hard hats are made from polyethylene or High Density polyethylene (HDPE) for the best protection against force to the top of the head. Aside from protection from falling objects, some of our hard hats have a full brim to protect against UV rays. In the case of the Pyramex New Cap hard hat, the brim also offers a rain trough feature.
